Genesis Day 4 Study - Sun, Moon & Stars
Without a doubt this is the image that launched my excitement in the installation. First of all if I had used shades of yellow for the sun and if it came against the heavens it would be green where the two colors met. I used a wax barrier to make the edges different from the sun and heavens and then the moon in the heavens. I first ground about the sun creating pure metallic “rays” which gave the entire image dynamic movement. The same process was used to keep the moon a brilliant, opalescent silver. The stars were formed by flicking acetone onto the panel with different size brushes. ~Lynn Rae
